IWO-Austria (Institute of efficient oil heating systems) is a private institution established in the legal form of a registered association. Its prime task is the promotion of the efficient use of the energy of heating oil in the market of heating engineering. In addition it promotes especially the modernization of existing oil heating systems as well the use of heating oil as source of energy for new buildings.

The institute was founded in 1989. Members are the mineral oil industry, the heating system industry and the fuel business. It cooperates with chimney sweepers and heating system manufactures, distributors and construction companies. In its public relation work, its participation in fairs, by providing advice on energy saving and by promotional activities for modern oil heating systems, IWO has been contributing actively to provide solutions for the technical and ecological challenges of home heating.
