State of the Union: EU needs a cost-efficient heating strategy

European citizens expect an affordable way to keep warm this winter

The European Commission is hosting the EU Heating and Cooling Strategy Consultation Forum today in Brussels. Eurofuel highlights the key role the European heating sector plays in achieving Europe’s ambitious objectives regarding energy-consumption and GHG emissions. Eurofuel’s concern is that by solely focusing on renewable energy solutions and electricity, Europe’s climate goals will not be achieved and in fact will leave millions of Europeans out in the cold. A realistic step by step approach is needed, a combination of fossils with renewables is the solution.
