IWO Austria organises Exclusive Round Table on Energy Efficiency with International Energy Agency and European Commission
Eurofuel’s Austrian member IWO Austria held an Exclusive Round Table on “Energy Efficiency: A European Challenge” in Vienna on 25 March 2014. The invited experts discussed the challenges and opportunities brought by the EU Energy Efficiency Directive and agreed on the important remaining work to achieve the EU’s 2020 energy savings objectives. The heating sector still has a major potential for efficiency increases. An Austrian subsidy scheme recognised by the IEA shows a possible path to follow.
The event, which took place in the prestigious Viennese Hotel Sacher, was introduced by Martin Reichard, Managing Director at IWO. Editor Jakob Zirm from Die Presse moderated the debate between Robert Tromop (International Energy Agency), Eva Hoos (European Commission’s DG Energy) and Sabine Heyman (Eurofuel).
