Eurofuel elects Martin Reichard as new President at 2026 General Assembly in Dublin
Eurofuel members gathered in Dublin for the association's annual General Assembly, marking an important moment in the organisation's leadership and future direction.
During the meeting, members elected Martin Reichard of EWO Austria as the new President of Eurofuel.
He succeeds Dr. Ernst-Moritz Bellingen of en2x (Germany), who has served as President for several years and has played a key role in strengthening Eurofuel's position as the European voice of renewable liquid heating fuels.
Martin Reichard takes over the presidency at a crucial time for Europe's heating sector. As policymakers seek effective pathways to decarbonise buildings while maintaining affordability, energy security, and consumer choice, renewable liquid fuels continue to offer a practical solution for millions of households and businesses relying on liquid-fuel heating systems.
As President, Reichard will work closely with Eurofuel members and stakeholders across Europe to promote technology-neutral policies that recognise the contribution renewable liquid fuels can make towards achieving climate objectives. He will also support Eurofuel's ongoing efforts to demonstrate how existing heating infrastructure can contribute to emissions reductions through the increased use of sustainable fuels.
The General Assembly also provided an opportunity to recognise the significant contribution made by Moritz Bellingen during his tenure as President.
Under his leadership, Eurofuel navigated a period of profound change in European energy and climate policy. The association strengthened its engagement with European institutions, expanded cooperation with partners across the heating and fuels sectors, and consistently advocated for the role of renewable liquid fuels in the transition towards low-carbon heating.
As Eurofuel enters this new chapter, the association looks forward to building on the strong foundations established under Bellingen's presidency and continuing its work towards a sustainable and resilient energy future for Europe.
