Who we are
The European Liquid Heating Fuels Association (Eurofuel) represents organisations that promote the use of liquid fuels for domestic heating in Europe. Our membership covers 10 European countries, including over 10,000 companies. Eurofuel is engaged in the promotion of existing and innovative techniques for liquid fuels for heating and equipment, in the domestic market. In this way, our members are committed to the energy transition: ensuring the competitiveness and efficiency of heating with liquid fuels, while also reducing its environmental footprint.
The objectives of Eurofuel are to:
- Represent the interests of the liquid heating fuel sector in the European Institutions, as well as in other international organisations and fora.
- Promote our vision for the sector, where technology (condensing boilers and hybrid systems) allows gains in energy efficiency, hence a reduced consumption of liquid fuels, and where low-carbon and renewable liquid fuels allow a drastic reduction of CO2 emissions.
- Promote and develop new techniques for liquid heating fuels, such as fuel cell technology, heat pumps and the use of liquid heating fuels in new equipment (boilers and burners).
- Provide best-practice information on hybrid heating & hot water systems combining liquid fuel & other energies: "the best of two worlds".
- Promote and share information within Europe on R&D laboratory tests & customer field trials using innovative liquid fuels and fuel blends for heating purposes.
- Sustain and improve heating systems with liquid fuels as a competitive energy source, including information exchange with partners in the EU and in the USA.
- Share information and best practices in the field of communication.
- Promote the proper installation and maintenance of liquid fuel heating equipment (boilers and components), including the training of competent technicians.
